Blacksmithing, carpentry, building, videography, whiskey, backcountry adventures, bushcraft, homesteading (obviously, it’s in the name)… thats a few that come to mind and I want to share them all with you. So, hopefully you’ll enjoy watching the videos as much as I do creating them and following along in the journey of my "Handcrafted Lifestyle". CHEERS!

if you're construction worker, it looks bad with you day off shoes, please that doesn't give a safety example.
Huh??
Bottom line: make a ballistics chart and tape to the buttstock of each rifle!
I agree!
I don’t understand the fascination with blantons, it’s just okay for me
I agree. There’s so many more options that are WAY better.
Amazing. Hope my project turns out half as good.
Thank you! I hope so too! When are you doing it? I have a full online course for vertical concrete coming out soon. If you need anymore information that is. Right now I have my mix design and explanation on Patreon.
YOURE THE ONLY OTHER PERSON IVE SEEN MENTION THE 4 WAY TAP TURNER. JUST BECAUSE THE WORLD ENDS DOESNT MEAN WATER PRESSURE STOPS!!! THERES SO MUCH DRINKABLE WATER IN THE APOCALYPSE, THEY JUST MADE IT COMPLETELY INACCESSIBLE BEFORE IT ALL WENT TO SHIT 😂😂😂😂
😂 true. And that’s awesome! I didn’t realize I’m one of the few that has mentioned it. It just made sense to me. Being a contractor I always kept one in the work truck in case I needed water for anything. Most commercial buildings don’t have a regular water spigot.
Damn that is amazing
Well thank you very much!
Military special is elite! Real cowboy style drink from the saloons.
I honestly couldn’t believe.
Fantastic job ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you very much!
why but a moisture barrier? wont that trapped moisture erode the concrete?
It won’t erode concrete. I just did it as an extra precaution to keep moisture (if any) away from the wood.
I’m enjoying Russel’s Reserve single barrel private select for a local store.
They’re all pretty tasty!
One of the best looking tomahawks I’ve ever seen!!
Thank you very much!
your awesome..Love the bloopers!!
😂 thanks man!
Great story..will have to try it.
I think you’ll like it! 👍
Praying for you brother..
Thank you!
WOW
😁🙏
What jacket is it? I know it’s carharte but what exactly??
Sherpa lined sierra
What color do you temper at
It’s kind of a golden tan/brown
Great looking riffle. I'd love to have one, even if it gave me aids.
😂😂 yeah I don’t mind it.
That cantilever setup gave me aids
You should probably have that looked at.
Amazing! thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Is this a blank? Did you put your stamp on a blank?
It is! And I did! It’s a blank I made in a previous video.
@@TheHiddenHomestead made on a previous video from amazon or you forged it lol?
🤷🏼♂️ I guess you’ll have to find and watch the video. 😁👍
What about ability to make something hot water, hot tea, hot food
That’s a good point, however as mentioned at the beginning of the video this isn’t a SHTF sort of bug out. My thought is that while some natural disasters can be pretty massive in scale they normally don’t take out an entire regions complete infrastructure. *Normally. So getting a hot meal at a family’s or friend’s house, hotel or restaurant down the street or next town over wont be impossible.
Wow great looking hatchet
Thank you!
P r o m o s m 👍
Flinstones
It looks amazing, and full credit for your film set of a shower room. But I am concerned about the upkeep. That looks like it'd be a nightmare to clean... is it?
Thank you! Well, I’ll say that it’s not an average shower so admittedly it does take longer than average to clean. That being said, it’s really not that bad. Two to three times a week we do a quick spray down with a 50/50 water/vinegar mix after we shower. Every other week we use the same mix and scrub it down with a powered/rotating medium bristle brush. We have a few different shaped heads that we can use to get in all the hard to reach areas. Then if needed, once or twice a year we’ll go in and use something a little stronger than the water/vinegar if there’s a lot of soap scum build up. It normally doesn’t get that bad though if we stay on it with the water/vinegar mix.
Nicely done man and still the best chicken coop I’ve seen yet.👍🏼🍻
Ha! Thanks brother! 🥃👍
@@TheHiddenHomestead 👍🏼🥃👊🏼
You da man! The most amazing shower!
Hey thanks!!
Very cool.
Thank you!
What happens if someone steals your bag and has all of your personal information in there, ie your credit card information, and everything you put on there. That's why I personally don't like doing that.
That’s a good point! Thanks for the comment. I’m not attempting to argue because that is a valid concern. I guess my thought behind it was that if it’s a natural disaster, the bag would leave the house and go directly to a hotel or to a family member’s home. So point A to B, in my possession and/or secured. No different than my wallet on my person if anyone wanted to steal it. If it was a true SHTF scenario, personal info would probably be completely useless to other people as we’d be dealing with a possible societal collapse and they’d be more worried about tangible things that could be used immediately.
That looks so sweet! You’re so talented!!
🙏 thanks man!
Got an extra pair of overalls I've been thinking about doing this to. Seems a bit difficult to do without a shop though.
I don’t believe it would be difficult at all. If you’re concerned with mess just put some plastic or a drop cloth down on the table. If you do it inside your home I would exercise extreme caution melting and mixing the ingredients. The liquids are HIGHLY flammable. If possible I would try to do that outside.
@@TheHiddenHomestead I heard the microcrystaline wax gives off some really nasty fumes. But I also hear mixed info on that. Waxing makes it pretty unfeasible to wear in the summer, correct? It's one thing to have an unwashable jacket, but unwashable pants could get nasty fairly quickly if you sweat a lot.
It’s not the wax that’s really flammable. It’s the tung oil finish and especially the mineral spirits. Yeah. If you sweat a lot they will get funky. That being said I’ve had people comment on here that they use cheap vodka to wet the inside. The alcohol kills all the bacteria that causes the funky smell
Wow great job
Thank you!
Which carhart hoodie is this?
It’s the Sherpa lined sierra.
@@TheHiddenHomestead thanks dude! Party on!
👍👍
I would pay to learn, also tricks on how to keep it stable and not get how easily of the edge. Love the darkened wood too. But I love the work there is to build up the pieces, it must be incredibly hard to do and dangerous. Wow. hard to find the place to do this. Tons of tools needed, not just experience.
It’s a really fun process.
Nice coop, great idea with the pvc feeder
Thanks! It works pretty well. I’m glad I incorporated it into the design
@@TheHiddenHomestead yea, I'm gonna use that one. Moving to my Arizona off-grid homestead this summer, very exited🇺🇲😊👍
Awesome!!! Wish you the best of luck man!! 🇺🇸 👍
Howdy brother- your talent is amazing! God bless
Thank you sir! Good Friday to you! Hope you have a great weekend.
Would be a cool fire pit!
👌 this one is! 🔥
That's so awesome brother. Your the man.
Thanks man!
Will the heat over time cause it to crumble ? Or is it furnace cement ?
I mix fireclay into the mortar. I have done some tests with this mix where I blasted it with a big weed burner torch. It glowed red but didn’t crumble. That being said, I don’t recommend it. I always put a smokeless or gas insert in them which just insures the longevity and the functionality of them.
Beautiful work!!!
Thank you so much!
What's the Concrete you're using for the walls
It’s a special mortar that I make specifically for vertical applications. There’s a lot of pre-bagged mixes out there to choose from but this one is definitely more economical. I am in the process of making a full online course that goes over all of it. For now though, if you’re interested I have a link to the ingredients, and the how/why of the mix pinned to the top of the comments section. Admittedly, it’s on my Patreon channel so it does require payment for access to get all the information.
That’s an awesome chicken coop and well done. I love how you build everything so you don’t have to bend over so much. I also have a lot of back issues and try to do everything I can not to make it worse. Sorry to hear about your voice and I hope you get better very soon.👍🏼🍻👊🏼💯
Thanks brother! Back issues suck. So whatever I can do to be lazy with it is a plus! lol. 🥃🤙
@@TheHiddenHomestead 🤣🤣🤣hell yeah!!!👍🏼🥃👊🏼💯
Good luck on your recovery bro. Praying for healing and peace of mind. Thanks for sticking with it despite yhe obstacles. 🙏
Thank you very much! Gotta stick with it and do what you love. A body in motion stays in motion! 👍👍
Is there anything I can use in place of the tung oil finish that work work as good?
🤔 I can’t think of anything off the top of my head. Technically you probably don’t need the tung oil finish. Tung oil by itself takes a long time to cure. The reason the tung oil finish is used is for the “drying agents”. It helps speed up the curing process of the actual tung oil. If you wanted to set it and forget it for a few weeks you could probably get away with not using it. But don’t get excited and wear it to soon. You’ll potentially get the tung oil on everything else you touch.
@TheHiddenHomestead ohh okay thank you! I have all the time in the world to let it cure :) looking forward to trying this out!
awesome! You’ll have to let me know how it turns out
Fun fact guys. This guy is awsome ! Thank you for this video sir
😂🤣 well thank you very much! I’m glad you liked the video!
Out of curiosity, how have they held up over the years? Do you have other wood projects that you can compare this method against? Thanks!
It is cedar and redwood which is rot resistant. So, other than fading a little they have held up really well. I don’t have much to compare it to personally other than old cedar fence posts. These haven’t been in the ground that long yet, so it’s hard to compare. This isn’t anything new though. It’s a very old technique of preserving wood.
@@TheHiddenHomestead thank you! Beautiful work!
Thank you!
You didn't show how you formed the eye hole.
This video was just an overview of the entire process. So, I didn’t show much detail for each step. However, at 1:30 I did show a little bit of the process for drifting the hole.
I am very please you chose to to do the old barn the right way I thank you
Thank you very much! I’m very happy and pleased how it turned out. It’s been in my family for decades so I was honored to five it a new life.
Blantons is a very good bourbon, that being said NO DAMN BOURBON is worth double or triple MSRP and i be damned if the liquor store is going to ticket scalp me.
Hear, hear!! 🥃🥃
